Maybin, who was 124th in the Race to Dubai before the tournament, needs to finish in the top 110 or win an event in the remainder of the season to get his card for the 2015 season.

He made four bogeys in a disappointing second round one over par 73 to leave him at four under for the tournament.

He's 11 shots behind leader Hennie Otto, who shot a second round 10 under.

Maybin is still the leading Irishman in the field, two ahead of Darren Clarke and Damien McGrane.

Those look to be the only three to make it through to the weekend in Turin as Paul McGinley, Simon Thornton and Peter Lawrie all missed the cut.

Also not making it through to the weekend is last year's runner-up David Higgins. His second round was sub-par but couldn't make up for a disastrous opening round 78.
