Northern Ireland's Gareth Maybin carded a double bogey seven on his last hole to ruin any chance of winning the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa.
The Ballyclare man had gotten to 14 under par after a birdie at the 17th, but he failed to put the pressure on the leaders in South Africa.
His score on the last saw him shoot a closing round 71 and drop down to 12 under par, one shot better than Ireland's Damien McGrane.
Spain's Pablo Martin held on to win the first event of the 2010 European tour season at 17 under par, finishing two clear of local favourite Charl Schwartzel.
Belfast golfer Michael Hoey had a closing round of 74 to finish the week at one under par.
