The Anfield club fielded a youthful team against Stephen Baxter's Danske Bank Premiership squad.

David Rainey came close to giving Crusaders the lead but was narrowly denied.

Suso scored with a delightful 31st minute free-kick to put the Reds ahead, the shot soaring past Wayne Drummond.

Adam Morgan made it 2-0 with a 4-yard tap in after he met Nathan Ecclestone's cross in the 43rd minute.

It could have been three shortly after half-time but Sosa hit the post.

Crusaders did pull one back when Declan Caddell's shot took a wicked deflection off Jakob Sokolik and into the net.

Gareth McKeown was not too far from giving Crusaders an unlikely leveller when he shot over the bar.

However Liverpool secured the win 11 minutes from time when Ecclestone headed in the third.

the only thing i would like to say about the match was mums and dads with young boys and girls had trouble trying to watch the game, they ended up in the middle of the crowd in the stands, in fact a young girl fan behind me fainted.

i know it was a friendly match with no real value to it but some of the players on both sides played well, on the liverool side soco and flanigan showed good skills and on the crues team david rainey and number fifteen[ sorry i dont know his name]showed plenty of ability on the ball, they did not look out of place in this game.everybody knew that liverpool would not bring over members of the first team due to saturdays new season kick off , but i think that all that attended the match enjoyed what was on show?well done to all the players on both sides.
