The visitors had chances through Ryan McIlmoyle and Aaron Boyd and Daryl Fordyce went close for the home side in the first period.

Blues keeper Alan Blayney left the pitch with an injury before half time with Ross Glendinning called into action - he saved from Curtis Allen.

Gary Browne blasted over for Linfield but the match ended with no score leaving Coleraine - who are chasing a Europa League place - fourth in the Carling Premiership table.

Unfortunately the first 18seconds of the highlights epitomise Linfields absolute inability to take free kicks. Our set pieces are beyond terrible. I can count easily count on one hand how many direct frees we've scored in the last 10 years. Also would have to note, the referee last night was beyond a joke for both teams. Thought he was playing uno the many yellow cards we seen. Gary Browne had Linfields best chance last night, but not shown on highlights. Such an end of season feel to last nights game, I'd agree, dull.
