Linfield 2 - 0 Lisburn Distillery
The win puts the Blues, who went top last Tuesday with a 2-2 draw at home to Institute, three points clear of Big Two title rivals Glentoran.
David Jeffrey's side welcomed back former legend striker Glenn Ferguson - 'Spike' making his first playing appearance at Windsor Park since his testimonial game against Stockport County in August.
The home side took the lead after just ten minutes. Michael Carvill took a corner from the left and Kris Lindsay rose above Glenn Ferguson to head home from close range.
On 13 minutes, the Whites almost equalised. Glenn Ferguson took a free kick from about 25 yards and Stuart Addis did exceptionally well to tip the ball behind for a corner kick.
Linfield were starting to control the match and on 32 minutes they doubled their advantage.
Damien Curran found Michael Carvill on the left and his cross was met by a firm header by Billy Joe Burns who ghosted between the Distillery defence to nod home.
Burns could've had a second five minutes later. His powering run down the left was finished off with a fierce drive at goal - the shot whistling just over the bar with Philip Matthews well beaten.
Michael Carvill was next to try his luck for the Blues, but his sweet free kick from 25 yards was brilliantly saved by Matthews, just as the ball looked destined for the back of the net.
Philip Matthews again denied Linfield just a minute after the interval. Billy Joe Burns was involved once again and his low drive was well pushed away by the Distillery shot stopper.

On 50 minutes, Jim Ervin slid a delicious pass through to Mark Miskimmin, but even though he was well placed, the young, in-form striker put the ball well wide.
Jamie Mulgrew had an effort on 56 minutes for the Blues. His low shot from just inside the box went agnoisingly wide of Matthew's right hand post.
Four minutes later, Damien Curran floated a free kick from the right hand side of the box and just as it appeared destined for the top corner, Whites keeper Matthews got a hand to the ball to push it wide.
Glenn Ferguson went close again on 76 minutes. He met Davitt Walsh's cross from the right but his header lacked the power to beat Stuart Addis.
Despite the poor second half showing from both sides and although Distillery went close near the end, Linfield eased to a 2-0 victory and go three points clear of Glentoran who came from behind to record a 3-2 victory over Coleraine in the Setanta Cup.
