The Belfast Giants held on to top spot in the Elite League with a 4-1 victory at the Dundee Stars on Monday night.

AJ MacLean gave the Stars the lead in the first period but the visitors came storming back with goals from Graeme Walton, Tom Dignard and a third-period brace from Robert Dowd.

The Giants hit a quick double at 37.43 and 39.33 from Graeme Walton and Tom Dignard to turn the game in their favour.

Dowd scored his first shorthanded at 45.39, before hitting the empty net with 33 seconds remaining.

The Nottingham Panthers remain three points behind the leaders as they won 5-0 at home to the Hull Stingrays with Brandon Benedict scoring twice, while Edinburgh gained revenge for a New Year's Eve defeat at home to Fife by beating them 4-1 away.
