Kevin Saurette scored twice for Belfast with Chris Higgins, Colin Shields, Calvin Elfring and Mark Garside getting the others on Saturday night.

Man of the Match Saurette now leads the Giants in scoring with 28 goals and 31 assists for 59 points.

"Kevin was on his game tonight - he was flying out there and making things happen. He's a quality finisher and knows where the net is. He attacks the defence with speed and that's where he gets his goals from," Head Coach Paul Adey said after the game.

The win followed Friday night's impressive 3-0 win against Hull, securing a successful two nights at home to complete a four point weekend.

Goals from Jeff Mason, Dustin Whitecotton and Chris Higgins and a shutout from Stephen Murphy gave the Giants their first win on Friday.

With Belfast way off in the distance, the battle for second is where the action is. The Braehead Clan pounced to move to second place with a 3-1 win over Coventry Blaze on Saturday.
