Laverty takes third at Monza

Eugene Laverty took third spot as only half a race could be completed at the World Superbike round at Monza on Sunday.

Tom Sykes was the clear winner with Leon Haslam third in the second race which was brought to a hold at halfway as rain returned to the circuit.
Half points were given for the race - Jonathan Rea was sixth.
Laverty had started well in race one, however it was abandoned with the conditions deemed too dangerous to continue.
Max Biaggi continues to lead the World Superbikes standings on 97.5 points, with Rea in fifth position on 70 and Laverty eighth on 64.
