An 88th minute winner from Conor Walsh gave Glenavon a much deserved 2-1 victory over Coleraine at Mourneview Park.
Glenavon 2 - 1 Coleraine
After Bannsiders striker, Rory Patterson had seen his penalty saved by Andrew Plummer, James Costello gave the home side a 62-minute lead.
Eamon Murray and Ryan Harpur played a neat one two before the former fed the ball through to Costello who fired in the rebound after his initial effort struck the post.
Coleraine then looked to have snatched a point four minutes from time when Rory Patterson turned neatly and fired a deflected shot past a helpless Andrew Plummer.
However, substitute Walsh tapped home the winner after a flowing break led by Ryan Harpur. The midfielder slipped the ball to Walsh who then fed it wide to Willo McDonagh whose low cross found the skipper four yards out and he just couldn't miss.
The flowing move was typical of the game that combined feisty tackling and impressive passing in what was an exhilarating advertisement for the local game.
Eamon Murray, Ryan Harpur and Trevor Molloy provided Glenavon's flair at one end whilst at the other Rory Patterson and Stephen Dooley tested the home side's defence.
The result leaves Marty Quinn's men three points behind the Bannsiders in sixth spot.
