Glentoran 2 - 2 Linfield

The hitman struck in the 88th minute to earn a point for the champions in a game they looked to have thrown away.

Daryl Fordyce had put Glentoran in front in a first half they dominated but the Blues turned the match on it's head after the break.

A Sean Ward own goal gave them an unlikely breakthrough before Jamie Tomelty put them in front with a close range.

Glentoran had been cruising in the first half and looked like the only team capable of winning the game however they didn't make the pressure count and only Fordyce's goal divided the teams.

Gillespie went on a run down the right and Matty Burrows knocked the ball down for Fordyce who fired home left-footed from 14 yards.

Glentoran played the ball around with ease and the Blues were chasing shadows.

In the second half though, it was a different story.

Linfield came out like a different team, harrased and harried the Glens and when James Taylor tipped over a Paul Munster effort from that corner the home side struggled and Peter Thompson's shot was going wide only for it to deflect off Ward and go in.

Soon after, it was 2-1.

Thompson ran down the right and found Tomelty who buried his shot into the roof of the net.

From there Glentoran were all over the place and struggled to contain the visitors.

But they did have a couple of chances when Billy Joe Burns slammed against his own crossbar and then Gillespie sent a shot with the outside of his boot which was heading for goal only for William Murphy to head clear.

But still the Blues were on top and the turning point came when Taylor made a stunning save as Philip Lowry got on the end of a Thompson cross but the big keeper made a brilliant stop down to his left.

From there Glentoran upped the ante and in the 88th minute Fordyce shot through a crowded area and Stuart Addis spilled it, allowing Hamilton to turn the ball home from a couple of yards out and earn the Glens a point which sent them to the top of the Carling Premiership.

Glentoran and Linfield drew 2-2 at the Oval on Tuesday evening
