Kenya battled back on the third day of their Intercontinental Cup clash against Ireland in Eglinton to leave the contest evenly poised.
The Africans made 331 all out in reply to Ireland's 404 and then reduced the hosts to 139 for four in their second innings.
Kenya started day three on 239 for six but suffered an early blow when Jimmy Kamande perished having added just eight to his overnight 65.
Thomas Odoyo stood firm, however, with 46 while Peter Ongondo added a useful 24 not out to push his side past the 300 mark.
Veteran Steve Tikolo then took the wickets of openers Jeremy Bray and Paul Stirling as Ireland got off to a stuttering start in their second innings.
Alex Cusack cracked 55 not out, though, as Ireland made it through to the close with an overall lead of 212 with six wickets remaining.
