The ex-Linfield midfeilder took up the role at the Showgrounds just under a year ago and has led a revival that has seen them move into the top four in the League and into the Irn-Bru League Cup Final with Crusaders at the end of the month.
He was also named Carling Manager of the Month for December.
Kearney previously managed Limavady United, before succeeding David Platt as Bannsiders boss in February last year - he has only lost seven of the 48 games in which he has been in charge, with Coleraine currently on a 12-game unbeaten run.
Coleraine's General Manager Dessie Brown was delighted with the deal.
