Irish lift the Triple Crown

The Irish Women's rugby team celebrated an historic Triple Crown win after recording a 30-3 win over Scotland in the Six Nations on Saturday.

The Scots took an early lead in the game through a penalty from centre Lisa Ritchie, but Ireland entered the half time break with an 8-3 lead after a try from Alison Millar and a penalty from Niamh Briggs.

Millar put another five points on the board in the second half followed by tries from Siobhan Fleming and Briggs who also scored two conversions and another penalty.

The Irish beat Wales 12-10 earlier in the campaign and defeated England an impressive 25-0 in Dublin.

Saturday's victory has assured coach Philip Doyle's side will have a place at the Women's Rugby World Cup next year.
