The Irish had already qualified for next year's main tournament in Bangladesh after progressing from their group unbeaten.

Ireland posted a respectable total of 147 - 8 through Trent Johnston's 35 and John Mooney's 29.

Max Sorensen took four early wickets to keep Ireland in control of the UAE reply.

Former Ireland skipper Johnston will retire from International cricket after next month's Intercontinental Cup decider in Dubai with the Afghans.
