Ireland Cricket team
Wicketkeeper Niall O'Brien passed a late fitness test to take his place for Ireland in their final Super Eights contest at the World Twenty20.

O'Brien has been dogged by an ankle injury throughout this tournament and worsened the condition during yesterday's nine-run defeat to Sri Lanka.

However, the 27-year-old declared himself available to face the Pakistanis at the Oval.

Ireland, needing a landslide win to resuscitate any hopes of reaching the last four, therefore made just one change, with teenager Paul Stirling drafted in for Andre Botha.

Pakistan, who can top Group F for 24 hours at least with victory, named an unchanged XI and opted to bat first.
