Co Tyrone native Darren Clarke has withdrawn from the Northern Trust Open in California due to the recurrence of a chest injury.

He decided not to proceed following his opening round at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, signing for a 7-over-par, before calling it an early week due to chest muscle pain.

Although he picked off two birdies, he squared seven bogeys and four-putted the par for a double bogey.
