The IFA Appeals Board has thrown out Newry City's appeal against the £800 fine they were handed following their abandoned JJB Sports Irish Cup tie with Larne.

Newry player Cullen Feeney was also fined £75 and banned for two games.

Larne were fined £1,200 for their role in the incident and had players suspended, with midfielder Anthony Lagan receiving the most stringent ban until the end of the season.

Larne manager Paul Millar was also handed a four game suspension.

In its statement the IFA said:

"After lengthy detailed deliberations, the Appeals Board unanimously decided that the Disciplinary Committee had acted fully in line with the regulations and procedures laid down in the IFA Disciplinary Code and it was, therefore, agreed that the Appeal by Newry City be dismissed and the decision of the IFA Disciplinary Committee upheld."

In January, referee Robert Crangle was forced to halt the game ten minutes from time after a brawl broke out involving players, managers and backroom staff from both clubs.

The IFA is yet to decide whether either side can carry on in the Irish Cup and face Loughgall in the sixth round.
