Glenavon 3 - 3 Ballymena United
It would have been hard to separate the two sides at the interval and that was shown in the 1-1 scoreline at the break.
Glenavon went in front on 14 minutes. James Costello had his trailing leg caught by Chris Ramsey inside the box. Trevor Molloy stepped up and put the ball into the back of the net.
While there could be no complaints about Glenavon's opener Ballymena seemed to be fairly fortunate to get their equaliser on 41 minutes.
Kevin Kelbie and Jay Magee both went up for the ball with raised hands and while it looked like Kelbie got a touch referee David Malcolm decided to give a penalty to United. Kelbie himself despatched the spot kick perfectly.
A wonderful strike from Michael Smith made it 2-1 on 71 minutes and Andy Smith doubled the score two minutes later.
But Glenavon bravely fought back and Trevor Molloy pulled a goal back on 75 minutes from James Costello's cross.
Then Costello himself scored the equaliser six minutes from time with an absolute thunderbolt of a goal.
The sides will decide the contest on Tuesday night at the Showgrounds, kick off 8pm.
