Derry athlete Jason Smyth has won gold at the IPC European Athletics Championships in Swansea.

The blind sprinter produced a superb winning time of 10.78 seconds to take the victory.

Smyth took the European title in the Mens' 100m T12 race.

He recently represented Team Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Two years ago, he proved to be the fastest Paralympian in the world ever as he smashed records at the Games in London to win two gold medals.
