The game will be played at the Oval on Saturday 7 July, with kick-off at 3pm.

According to Glentoran's official website, Declan Devine's side will travel for the fixture after playing in Dublin just the night before.

It also means a return to the scene of the Candystripes' agonising penalty shoot-out defeat in the Setanta Cup only eight weeks on.

"The club are delighted that Derry City have agreed to line up as our first opposition this season," a Glentoran spokesman said.
