Glentoran were knocked out of their second cup competition in a week after drawing 1-1 with Bohemians at Dalymount Park on Saturday night.
Bohemians 1 - 1 Glentoran
The Glens, who were disposed off by Linfield at the quarter-final stage of the Irish Cup last week, missed out on a semi-final spot in the Setanta Cup after finishing three points behind Bohemians in Group Two.
After a scoreless first half it was the Glens who came out with much more confidence after the break.
Colin Nixon had the Glens' best chance of the first 48 minutes with a powerful header from a break down Gary Hamilton corner but Bohs keeper Chris O'Connor produced an excellent save to keep the game scoreless.
O'Connor was beaten three minutes later though after Keith Gillespie made a good run down the right before whipping the ball into the box for Gary Hamilton to knock it into the net with his head.
The goal increases Hamilton's tally to 11 so far this season but it wasn't enough to take the Glens further in the competition.
Rafael Cretaro grabbed the equaliser for the home side in the 61st minute after great spade work from Mark Quigley and Anto Murphy.
Quigley's cross was met at the back post by Murphy and he headed back to allow Cretaro space on the edge of the box to fire past Taylor.
New Glens boss Scott Young gave Jamie McGovern a rare start and had James Taylor in nets.
He also brought on Matty Burrows as an extra striker for the last seven minutes in an attempt to snatch a late winner.
But it wasn't to be and it got worse for the Glens as captain Paul Leeman was stretchered off after six minutes of treatment following a clash with Aaron Green late in the game.
