Glentoran fans clashed with Garda in the middle of the game
There are security fears ahead of Linfield's Setanta Cup semi-final meeting with Bohemians after trouble marred the end of their 1-1 home draw with Glentoran on Saturday.

The ugly scenes involving Glentoran fans and Garda officers came as the supporters tried to raise a Northern Ireland flag at Dalymount Park after the final whistle.

Officials at the Belfast club have accused the Irish police of heavy-handed tactics when fighting broke out between the police and fans.

Arrests were made before the game while there were five further arrests made after the match, with officials from the club understanding that all those people were released.

Glentoran missed out on a semi-final spot in the Setanta Cup after finishing three points behind Bohemians in Group Two.

Glens fans were asked to stay behind for ten minutes as the home fans left the ground on Saturday.

It is thought that no security meeting took place before the game.

I watched a re-run of the match last Sunday on Setanta from Australia and noticed some disturbance in the crowd. If this was caused by the raising of a Northern Iraland flag then really the police are to blame, in fact they have made Dublin look bad in the eyes of the world.

Speaking on behalf of the Linfield supporters in Lisburn I think its a disgrace what happened to the Glentoran supporters on saturday, we back them 100% on there unfair treatment over an ulster flag, I recently attended the blues game away to St Pats and there stewards tried the same on us over an ulster flag only there was no serious incident, I no the setanta cup rules are only team flags but the st Pats end had no fewer than 27 Irish Tricolours up, this doesnt offend me in any way as it is the souths national flag, maybe they should accept ours and that we exsist! Will be interestin us going down there on 3rd April, I for 1 will be taking an ulster flag with me and so should the rest of the bluemen in support of our fellow ulstermen! Ulster till I Die
