Glentoran have confirmed the return to the club of winger Stuart Elliott - 12 years after he left the club for Scottish side Motherwell.

In a statement on the Glens' official website, the team expressed delight at the signing.

Elliott has agreed a one-year deal, with the option of an extension.

"He returns home to where it all began," the club said.

The now 34-year-old became something of a fan favourite during his time at Fir Park and his performances for Motherwell saw him earn his first cap for Northern Ireland.

He went on to make 36 appearances at international level and featured in the side that memorably defeated England 1-nil in 2005.

HOPEFULLY TOMMY MCDONALD CAN BE TEMPTED OUT OF RETIREMENT, AS HE NEVER GAVE STUART A KICK EACH TIME HE PLAYED AGAINST HIM!
