    Interview: Glenavon's Marty Quinn

Glenavon 1 - 1 Crusaders

The first half, for the most part, was all Crusaders. Glenavon did have two early chances for the strike partnership of Gary Liggett and James Costello but both times they failed to break the deadlock.

Crusaders could have taken the lead when they were awarded an indirect free kick eight yards away from goal when Tuda Murphy picked up a ball that had bounced off Mark Haughey.

Gareth McKeown got the shot but Willo McDonagh took the sting out of the shot on his leg before it was cleared away.

They did take the lead on 33 minutes as a mixture of poor defending by the home team and good build up play by the Crues lead to Aaron Black scoring the opening goal.

The Lurgan Blues were much better in the second half and scored on the hour mark when a Trevor Molloy cross reached McDonagh on the penalty spot for a neat finish.

The cross bar saved the hosts 10 minutes from time when McKeown went close after receiving the ball from Marty Donnelly.

And Glenavon could have won it three minutes from the end when Trevor Molloy played Costello through, he rounded the keeper but went down with referee Alan Black booking him for diving.

I agree with Crusaders' comment. Well done to UTV for giving us 2 minutes of highlights when the BBC can only manage 40 seconds! Still, it's a pity you couldn't include the 'penalty' incident so we could settle a few arguments!

Well done UTV on your media coverage of Irish league games. Your coverage is far better than BBC but would like to see more of this on TV.
