The result left Doug Christiansen's side aiming to beat Edinburgh on Sunday to cut the gap on Elite League leaders, the Nottingham Panthers, to two points.
Nottingham increased their lead at the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Sheffield on Saturday.
The Giants meet the Panthers in a double header at the Odyssey next weekend when the title could be decided.
On Saturday, Fournier scored the only goal of the first period and Noah Clarke made it 2-0 in the second.
The Clan pulled a goal back but Brock Matheson, Darryl Lloyd and Fournier replied to make it 5-1.
After the Scottish side again reduced the deficit, Fournier completed his treble.
