The LBM Belfast Giants renew their feud with their Scottish rivals on Friday night when they face off against the Edinburgh Capitals at the Odyssey Arena.
Forward Pat Bateman made headlines last time the two teams took to the ice at the Odyssey when he dropped the gloves with netminder Cody Rudkowsky, as the Giants cruised to a 9-2 victory over the Caps back in October.
The Giants are currently in second place, a single point out of top spot behind the Coventry Blaze and a solid weekend could see the Giants on top of the league standings by Sunday Night.
"We have two big games this weekend, starting on Friday Night with the Capitals," said Bateman.
"They have a great team but we want first place and we need to get two wins to get there. The Capitals are just another team in the way and we plan on throwing everything at them on Friday Night.
"I plan on getting in the face of their netminder again, I already taught him a lesson last time, he isn't going to be talking so tough in net this time around."
Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, Steve Thornton, said the upcoming game would be a significant challenge for his team.
"It's a huge game and its a big point in the season for us," he told UTV.
"We are two games behind Coventry so its crucial that we pick up a four point weekend coming up, so we can't overlook these games because there are no easy games this year."
"It's going to be a really tough one for us."
