Head coach Doug Christiansen says the Canadian will be staying in Belfast for the rest of the season while he undergoes treatment for the ligament damage sustained when a linesman fell on his leg.
"Having had a serious knee injury myself, I know how hard it is for Benny," Christiansen said.
"He has a long road ahead of him, but the first step is out of the way - now he just has to focus on getting better as soon as possible. He has a great attitude and I am sure he will make a full recovery.
"I'm sure he appreciates all of the support the Giants fans have given him."
Due to movement restrictions, Doucet is unlikely to be able to turn out to support his side this weekend as they take on the Edinburgh Capitals and then the Nottingham Panthers.
Coming off the back of two big wins over Coventry Blaze last weekend, the Giants have high hopes but know they're in for a tough time.
"This weekend, we face two desperate hockey teams," Christiansen said.
"The Capitals have an excellent first line and a tremendous player in Rene Jarolin - we'll need to be physical against him all night.
"They're looking to cement a play-off berth and need all the points they can get."
Of Saturday's game against the Giants' Nottingham rivals, Christiansen added: "The Panthers have advanced to the Challenge Cup final and are a team we play four more times.
"They have great skill and a great goaltender - it'll be a colossal match-up."
The Giants are expecting James Hutchinson back from injury and in the line-up for both of the weekend's games at the Odyssey Arena.
