The Giants have already made one visit to Cardiff this season, coming away with two points following a 7-2 win.
On that night Cheverie, Elfring, Szwez, Higgins, Keefe and Sandrock provided the goals, but Adey says he is expecting a very physical challenge for the upcoming fixture.
He said: "Obviously Cardiff is a smaller rink so we've been working on close-in drills this week and are ready for those one-on-one battles that we're going to have a lot of during the game."
"Having played the Devils already it helps, plus you get to know their players a little bit more and the lines and match-ups that you want.
"Now that I've been in their rink [this season] I'll know what to expect."
He added: "Cardiff may have struggled at the start but let's not forget that they did not have their number one goalie for most of those early games.
"He has been back for two games now and they split last weekend's games against Sheffield with a win and a loss.
"Cardiff have a good team and we are going to have to play a really good game to get some points from them."
