The Belfast Giants are going in search of their twelfth consecutive win, when they take to the ice against the Dundee Stars on Friday night.

Doug Christiansen's side will be hoping to capitalise on having a home crowd behind them for the first time this month - but they will face a tough test.

The Stars are the only team to gain a point against the Giants on the road this season.

"We'll need to be patient in order to get a win Friday. It took us 63 minutes to score against them last time," Christiansen said "I'm expecting a very close game."

The league clash, which faces off at 7.30pm, also doubles as a Challenge Cup game.

The Giants - who will then face Coventry Blaze, also at the Odyssey, on Saturday - have been boosted by the return to the ice of captain Jeremy Rebek earlier this week.

He's been out since early September with a knee injury, but was cleared to skate for the first time on Wednesday. He'll still have a few more weeks of recovery before playing though.

"Jeremy is the captain of this team and we have missed him dearly," Christiansen added.

"I have every expectation that he will be fantastic for us when he comes back. I don't expect him to play until mid-November, but it's a big step forward."
