Doug Christiansen's side trailed three times but man-of-the-match Greg Stewart added the second of his two goals in overtime as the Giants made it three wins in a row.
Matt Haywood put the Scottish side ahead in the sixth minute but Stewart scored his first on 14.38 after assists from Daymen Rycroft and Robbie Sandrock.
With just 21 seconds of the second period gone, Drew Miller took advantage of a power play to put Braehead ahead once again.
But the Giants new signing Kevin Saurette equalised when he scored his first goal for his new team on 26.21 with the assists coming from Jeff Mason and Noah Clarke.
After the Giants had another man sent to the penalty box, Braehead struck again as David Nicoletti scored on 31.43 to make it 3-2 to the visitors.
Once again the Giants fought back to equalise as Robbie Sandrock made it 3-3 on 33.45 after assists from Craig Peacock and Mason.
There was no further scoring and the game went into overtime and in the third minute Stewart grabbed the winner helped by Rycroft and Mason.
