The Belfast Giants may be riding high in the Elite League, but their run of bad luck when it comes to injuries seems to be continuing.

The latest hit to the roster comes in the form of a ruptured tendon, putting forward Rob Dowd out of action for a minimum of three weeks.

It comes after the season-ending knee injury picked up by Benoit Doucet last weekend, during the Giants clash with the Braehead Clan - and just ahead of a potentially tough tie against Hull Stingrays.

Head coach Doug Christiansen is hoping to have Brock McBride back after two months out injured though, but he has one final medical to pass first.

"He has made significant progress over the last two weeks," Christiansen said.

James Hutchinson also looks likely to be back to full strength, after not finishing that game against the Clan on Saturday past.
