New goalie Garrett Zemlak saved all 19 of Fife's shots on target, while his teammates found the back of their opponents net three times for the much-needed win.
"We needed a guy that's able to shut the door when Murph's out," Christian said of his new player's efforts between the pipes.
And Zemlak himself, a former Fife and Braehead Clan player, was delighted to prove himself on his Belfast debut and to be in action in the city for his new team.
"I was on my way back to North America to look for a job, so ... the hockey gods were looking out for me a little bit," he grinned.
It was Colin Shields who opened the scoring for Belfast in the first period, after latching on to a rebound from a Robby Sandrock slapshot.
And the hosts continued to create chance after chance.
Kevin Saurette tapped home in the second period to double their advantage, while Darryl Lloyd added a third in the final period to round off the win.
Fife have slipped to four losses on the bounce amid a raft of injures, while the Giants have now improved to a two-game winning streak.
