The Belfast Giants extended their lead at the top of the Elite League to six points with a 6-3 victory over the Fife Flyers on Friday night.

The Giants returned to the Odyssey Arena and put in a hard night's work to see off a rejuvenated Fife Flyers team coming off the back of their best performance this season.

This was the Giants first win in November after last weekend's two game losing skid.

The Giants were in control of the game from the outset; however penalty trouble in the final period allowed the visitors to reduce the deficit.

The Giants lead the standings from the Nottingham Panthers, who have played a game less, and the Sheffield Steelers, who have five games in hand.
