The Belfast Giants sealed top spot in Challenge Cup group A and moved three points clear at the top of the Elite League standings after a comprehensive victory over Dundee Stars on Friday night.

The hosts took the advantage when Sami Ryhanen fired them ahead early in the first period, but Mark Garside equalised for the Giants in the fourteenth minute.
Another Garside goal came either side of strikes from Andrew Fournier at and Jeff Mason as the Giants asserted their dominance in the fourth quarter, although the Stars did pull one back when Mike Wirll netted on a 5-on-3 powerplay.
However the Giants continued to press in the final period, and Craig Peacock's goal sealed a 5-2 win for Doug Christiansen's side.
The Giants return to Belfast on Saturday evening when they face Edinburgh Capitals at the Odyssey Arena.
