The 5-4 victory over the Scottish side was the champions 14th straight win and their 26th game without a loss in regulation time.
Fife went two up through goals from Evan Cheverie and Jordan Fulton before captain Adam Keefe and Kevin Saurette levelled the game at two apiece.
Saurette, with his second goal, put the Giants ahead in the second period before Fulton levelled the game.
Derek Roehl then put the home side ahead before a Jeff Mason goal in the final moments of the game sent the match into overtime.
A cannon of a shot from Szwez secured the victory with just three seconds to go.
Man of the match was awarded to Kevin Saurette.
Head coach Paul Adey said that, although the championship title was already in the Odyssey trophy room, the Giants would continue to push for wins.
He told belfastgiants.com: "It was nice to see the puck hit the back of the net - it was a hard fought win and a nice shot from Szwez to win the game in overtime.
"Every night we're going to play hard and we're not going to give anyone any points.
"We have a good team spirit and the guys play well together and as a team. We play good hockey and the guys work hard and do a good job for the fans and their teammates."
The Giants continue their travels on Sunday at Coventry against the Blaze.
