Second-placed Belfast Giants came from behind to pick up a valuable away win over Sheffield Steelers in the Elite League on Saturday night.
The Steelers slipped to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Belfast side with the visitors winning the final third 2-0 to seal the result.
Title hopefuls Nottingham Panthers hammered Hull Stingrays in a 9-1 victory.
Panthers scored three times in each period, with hat-tricks from both David Clarke and Cameron Mann as Stingrays were swept aside.
Coventry Blaze needed overtime to edged Edinburgh Capitals 4-3 in Scotland, Greg Owen winning it with his third of the game.
Newcastle Vipers beat Cardiff Devils 4-1 in the evening's other match.
