German wins for Rea and Laverty

Jonathan Rea and Eugene Laverty have both enjoyed wins at the World Superbike Championship round at Germany's Nurburgring.

Laverty, of Toomebridge maintained his title challenge for the World Supersport title, finishing .058 seconds ahead of his nearest challenger.

Kenan Sofuoglo was third and is only eight points ahead of Laverty in the standings.

Hanspree Ten Kate Honda rider Rea was 1.12 seconds clear of Carlos Checa in the opening race and runner up in the second to Japan's Noriyuki Haga.

Rea stays in third in the Championship, behind leader Max Biaggi and Leon Haslam.

Parkalgar Honda rider Laverty stretched his points total to 211 - eight shy of Sofuoglu.
