The British Boxing Board of Control ruled on Tuesday night that the north Belfast boxer was unfit to compete due to an old ear injury.

The highly-rated fighter was set to appear on Frank Warren's 'Behind Enemy Lines' bill at Wembley Arena on Saturday.

Frampton was originally due to fight Fabian Oscar Orozco, but he was deemed unable to fight for 30 days after being knocked out last month. Everth Briceno, from Nicaragua, was chosen as Orozco's replacement.

It was to be The Jackal's first appearance since leaving Matchroom to sign with the promoter.
