It was announced on Wednesday that Stephen Ferris and Rory Best would sit out the match as part of the IRFU's player management programme.
Craig Gilroy and Chris Henry will also be absent after playing in all 10 of Ulster's games so far this season.
Andi Kyriacou and Robbie Diack are direct replacements for Best and Ferris at hooker and blindside flanker, while Willie Falloon replaces Henry in the back row and Adam D'Arcy is promoted to the starting XV.
Simon Danielli will cover for Craig Gilroy in Ulster's only positional change, moving to the wing after playing fullback in the Heineken Cup.
Both Ulster and Glasgow enter Friday's clash with a win and a defeat in their respective European games.
In the PRO12, the Warriors currently occupy a play-off position in fourth, while Ulster sit 5 points behind in seventh spot.
Brian McLaughlin's team will be looking for a response after a disappointing 20-9 loss in Europe to Leicester Tigers last weekend.
Glasgow's defeat to Leinster, meanwhile, ended a five match unbeaten run in all competitions, but they have won their last three matches at home.
"Whenever you're playing a Scottish side you've got to make your breakdown as accurate and as positive as possible," McLaughlin said.
"They'll be all over you like a rash so we've got to make sure that we're clinical in there and that we're producing the ball.
"The other thing is that with Scottish sides buzzing about all over the place, you've got to make sure you keep their forwards all in one place as much as possible," McLaughlin added.
"We've talked about varying little things, varying our lineouts and what we're doing off them.
"Hopefully that will help us as the game progresses."
