It was a result of a collision with an opposition player.

The 27-year-old from Greater Shankill has been hospitalised for two weeks now and is starting to show signs of recovery.

He has played for Woodvale since 2009 and featured in their Irish Junior Cup winning campaign.

The story has came to light because of a Twitter campaign which spread the hashtag #prayforclint.
