Ilonen carded a final round of 70 to finish 13 under par, one shot ahead of Italy's Edoardo Molinari, with Sweden's Kristoffer Broberg and English duo Danny Willett and Matthew Baldwin another shot back in third.
Graeme McDowell was in contention for the win heading in to the final round.
However, an even par final round saw the Portrush golfer drop down the leaderboard to finish on 10 under, three shots behind Ilonen and tied for sixth.
McDowell looked increasingly frustrated as a string of birdie chances went begging, leaving the former US Open champion off the pace.
Gareth Maybin recovered from a stuttering start on the final day to end the fourth round on even par, eight under overall and tied for 14th place.
However, it was Ballymoney man Michael Hoey who finished with one of the best rounds of the day.
The 35-year-old's final round of five under propelled him 19 places up the board into the top 10 to finish on nine under and tied for eighth place.
Only a bogey on the 15th hole took the sheen of Hoey's final round.
