Armagh trio Brendan Donaghy, Kieran Toner and Andy Mallon have been suspended for one game, along with Cavan's Martin Dunne and Fergal Flanagan.

Both counties have also been fined €5,000.

Armagh have said they will appeal the punishment, but it is believed Cavan do not intend to appeal.

The trouble occurred after players disputed the positioning of county flags for the traditional parade around the ground.

Rreferee Marty Duffy did not take any action against players at the time.

One of the banned players - Dunne - suffered suspected multiple hand and wrist fractures in the clashes.

Michael - mc dermott got off for the same reason mc keever got off. Glad the GAA didnt go overboard with banning players for what was mostly pushing & pulling

Why did Mc Dermott not get a suspension for kicking Jamie Clarke on the ground

This is a joke if it was any club game four striking another player they would be banned for three months wise up gaa punishment should have end both teams championship

A one game ban is a joke; the GAA needs to show it is serious about stamping out this ugly & stupid behavior. I have 2 young kids playing gaelic & hurling and this is a lousy example for them; and is the sort of thing that turns parents off gaelic games.
