The game will be the latest in a series of matches that Ferris has missed because of a back injury, having been sidelined for the recent Heineken Cup victories over Glasgow and Castres.
There are four changes to the side with Paul Marshall, Craig Gilroy and Lewis Stevenson all being given the nod. Declan Fitzpatrick also goes straight into the team after recovering from a knee injury.
Roger Wilson could make his first appearance this season after recovering from an injury sustained last season. He starts on the bench.
Marshall will start alongside Ruan Pienaar for the first time this season, with the South African taking the fly-half position. That means in-form Paddy Jackson moving to the bench.
