Last year's event was the first to feature racing on a Thursday evening - prior to that, Thursdays had been used only for practice sessions.
Director Mervyn Whyte confirmed at the official launch of the 2013 event on Tuesday that a Supertwins race will be added to the Thursday programme, in addition to the Supersport and Superstock events.
The festival will begin on Sunday 12th May 2013, with the traditional race day on Saturday 18th May comprising of a five-race schedule, including the addition of a second Supertwins race.
Tuesday's official launch also included news of a new title sponsor for the event, with car manufacturers Vauxhall supporting the North West 200 in two-year deal.
Organisers also revealed that they will be taking a stand at the Motorcycle Live 2012 show at the NEC in Birmingham for the first time.
The North West 200 is Northern Ireland's biggest annual sporting event, regularly drawing crowds of more than 100,000 for the week-long festival.
