Portadown kicked off the action when Keith O'Hara scored in the 25th minute, but the home side levelled within five minutes when David Miskelly put the ball in the net.

During the second half Sean Mackle came close to putting Portadown in the lead once more but missed out and the next goal came from their opposition, when Ciaran Doherty scored.

The Ports almost raised their score following Darren Murray's long throw-in, but the goal was ruled to be a foul and just nine minutes after the second goal from the Lurgan Blues, Joe McNeill put Ronnie McFaul's side back on even footing when he pushed the ball past Miskelly.
