Double defeat for Giants

The Belfast Giants lost 4-3 to Coventry Blaze on Sunday after a penalty shoot-out to make it two defeats in 24 hours at the weeeknd.

The Blaze took early control on Sunday when Matic Kralj scored twice.

Benoit Doucet replied for the Giants, before Rob Farmer restored the two-goal cushion.

Doug Christiansen's side hit back with Darryl Lloyd and Mark Garside scoring.

It followed on from Saturday's defeat to the Braehead Clan 4-1.

Braehead stormed 3-0 to the good by the end of the first period courtesy of goals from Kyle Bruce, the former Giants player Mike Bayrack and Jade Galbraith.

Aaron Clarke hauled one back for Belfast, but Drew Bannister sealed the win.
