Derry have booked their place in the Ulster Senior Hurling Championship final after a comprehensive seven-point win over Down in Saturday's semi-final replay at Pairc Esler.

The initial last four clash was a pulsating affair which ended with the sides deadlocked at 3-28 to 5-22 after extra time, but the replay had a more one-sided feel to it as the Oak Leaf County controlled proceedings.

Ruairi Convery found the net from a 25 metre free to help his side to a 1-10 to 0-7 half time lead, and a second goal from Michael Conway effectively ended the Ardsmen's resistance.

Derry will now progress to meet Antrim in the decider, with the date yet to be confirmed.

The 2013 final, which saw the Saffrons defeat Down, was played in February this year after a series of delays.
