Debt-ridden club Derry City beat Dundalk 2-1 at Oriel Park on Friday night, in their last League of Ireland Premier Division game of the season.
There has been speculation the clash could be the Candystripes' last appearance in the League of Ireland's top division, as the club struggle with dire financial difficulties and face relegation.
The home side scored first as Derry goalkeeper Eddie McCallion failed to save Michael McGowan's lob from inside his own half in the 27th minute.
But the Candystripes levelled 20 minute later when referee Derek Tomney awarded a penalty against Ger Rowe and Gareth McGlynn fired the spot kick past Peter Cherrie.
Dundalk were reduced to 10 men after Darren Mansaram was sent off, the 19th red card for the club this season.
Derry eventually clinched a bittersweet victory when defender Clive Delaney netted a late header.
The FAI board has convened an emergency meeting to discuss Derry City's crisis in Abbotstown on Saturday.
The Derry City Board of Directors have released a statement to assure fans they were "addressing all matters to the best of our ability".
"It is already a matter of public record that we as a club are experiencing major difficulties," they said.
"We are doing everything we can to help the club and we ask our fans, supporters, the media and the FAI to assist us in these difficult times."
