Peter Hutton's side never looked back after Patrick McEleney fired the visitors ahead on 21 minutes.

City doubled their lead on 33 minutes when Michael Duffy cashed in on some poor home defending and Derry were well on their way to victory.

After scoring his first goal for the club in the cup on Friday, Philip Lowry made it two in two games when he drilled in number three on the hour mark.

Ryan Curran completed a great night at Thomond Park for the Candystripes when he made it 4-0.
