A powerhouse second half display sealed Tyrone's place in the Ulster Championship final, as the Red Hand County overcame a disappointing Derry side at Casement Park on Sunday.

It was a relatively close affair in the first half - Barry McGoldrick sent over the opening score of the game to nudge Derry ahead.

However, it was to be the only time the Oak Leaf County held the lead in the match.

Four points from Sean Cavanagh helped Tyorne to a commanding position, although Derry stayed in touch - there were only three points between the sides at the half time whistle.

It all went wrong for Derry after the break though, with Damien Cassidy's side managing only two further scores from the boot of Eoin Bradley.

In fact there were no scores at all for the first 14 minutes of the second period, but Tyrone found their rhythm and points from Brian Dooher, Davy Harte, Martin Penrose, Sean Cavanagh, Kevin Hughes, Sean O'Neill and Brian McGuigan opened a comfortable lead.

It got worse for Derry before the end as they lost Kevin McGuckin to a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident ten minutes from time.

Tyrone will now surely be favourites to lift the Anglo-Celt Trophy when they play either Cavan of Antrim in the final at Clones on July 19th
